London, Dec 23 (ANI): Michelle Obama reportedly insisted on a 4million dollars trip to Hawaii when her husband Barack Obama sought instead to make the short trip to Camp David in Maryland.

According to the National Enquirer, political sources said that the US First Lady’s spending is rocketing, as she even went on a shopping spree before the Hawaii trip.

The President’s advisers have told him that Michelle’s spending has spiralled ‘completely out of control’,” the Daily Mail quoted a source as telling the publication.

“Barack read his wife the riot act, but his words fell on deaf ears. Michelle said there was “no way” she was going to disappoint her daughters,” the source added.

Merry Christmas!

Time heals all wounds

While scouring the interwebtubes, I ran across this:

One of the teens wounded by “subway vigilante” Bernhard Goetz died of an apparent drug overdose in a seedy Bronx motel room Thursday — 27 years to the day after the infamous shooting.

Oh my, what a pity.

James Ramseur, 45, was found dead in bed at the Paradise Motor Inn at 2990 Boston Road about 11 a.m., sources said.

He said he was in Paradise…

Two empty prescription pill bottles were found next to the bed with their labels scratched off, sources said.

They should outlaw empty prescription bottles.

Ramseur checked into the motel Tuesday and was supposed to check out Thursday morning, sources said.

When Ramseur failed to return his room key, the motel manager entered the room and found his clothed corpse.

Looks like he already checked out.
The troubled Bronx native — his years in the media limelight far behind him — did not leave a suicide note.
Poor bastard was probably illiterate. That happens when people are held down by Teh Man™.
Ramseur, an ex-con released from prison last year following a 25-year stint upstate for rape, was one of four black teens shot by Goetz on the 2 train on Dec. 22, 1984.

The teens claimed they had simply asked Goetz for $5.
Yeah, that’s it. They just axed him for five dollars.

Ramseur had been holding a screwdriver during the controversial shooting, and took a slug in the chest.

Hey! He was just offering to fix Bernie’s braces wit dat screwdriver!

Three months after the incident, Ramseur, then 18, was arrested for falsely reporting his own kidnapping to police.

Two months after that, cops busted him for helping to rape a pregnant teen at gunpoint in the Claremont Village housing project in the Bronx.

Ramseur was convicted of all the crimes he committed after the Goetz shooting. He served his full prison stint upstate and was released on Aug. 26, 2010.
Twenty-five years for rape. What a shame. He did his time and became an upstanding citizen, helping to rid the city of vermin.
He committed suicide.
Yes, time heals all wounds, and he’ll have plenty of time to heal now.

Butt she has magnificent arms!

Betsy Rothstein reports:

Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner (R-Wisc.), known for his cantankerous ways and for not speaking to media unless it’s his idea, was overheard at the Delta Crown lounge at Reagan National Airport today talking on his cellphone…

Our source, a Democratic operative who heard the whole thing, said he was “very loud”. Sensenbrenner was overheard saying that after buying all their “crap” (his word) a woman approached him and praised first lady Michelle Obama.  He told the woman that Michelle should practice what she preaches — “she lectures us on eating right while she has a large posterior herself.”

Shamelessly pilfered from the Free Republic

Any Questions?

I just hope the aircraft that carts her off to Hawai’i is a WIDE BODY.

UPDATE: From Baba Wawa:

Barbara Walters, ABC News: “Mrs. Obama, you’ve recently said something that I thought was very interesting for other women to hear. You said ‘you put your own self highest on your priority list.’ That sounds selfish?”

Michelle Obama: “No, no, it’s practical. It’s something that I found I needed to do for quite some time, even before the presidency. And I found it other women, in similar situated balancing career family, trying to do it all and a lot of times we just slip pretty low on our own priority list because we’re so busy caring for everyone else. And one of the things that I want to model for my girls is investing in themselves as much as they invest in others.”

Walters: “So what do you do?”

Obama: “Make sure I get my exercise in so I work out as much as he works out.”

Walters: “I hear more.”

Obama: “I do now. He’s been busier. Spending time with girlfriends. Going out. You know, pulling in people in my life who give me strength and joy.”

“I like burgers and fries”.

On Ron Paul

Wednesday, December 21st, 2011

Credit: John Huff

Recently, I have a conversation with my good friend Aewl concerning Ron Paul. I was telling him how I recoil at the notion that a candidate is tagged with being ‘intelligent’ like Obama, ‘stupid’ like Reagan, a ‘cowboy’ like Bush, or any other such moniker that gets people to stop looking at the candidate.

It is exactly like Karl Rove saying Christine O’Donnell couldn’t possibly win the general election after she won the republican primary. She dabbled in witchcraft, ya know. What a crock of crap. Why would Karl Rove carry water for the democrats?

Moreover, Obama is living proof that anyone can win.

Then came Herman Cain. He was the darling of the naive TEA Party, the people that thought that if they organized and delivered some new blood to Congress, they would have a seat at the table. Not so fast, Bucko. There’s a little matter of the Old Guard republicans that needs to be addressed, first.

I, frankly, don’t care if the assertions about Herman Cain are true or not. It’s politics. Politics create strange bedfellows. What I do care about is who caused Herman Cain to withdraw. In my twisted mind I’m staring straight at Karl Rove.

Now someone has found some newsletter Ron Paul supposedly published that allegedly contained some inappropriate language. It was published in the ’80’s and ’90’s.

Ron Paul reiterated Tuesday that he did not write a series of newsletters that appeared under his name in the 1980s and 1990s that included controversial comments about African-Americans, including a claim that “[o]rder was only restored in L.A. when it came time for the blacks to pick up their welfare checks.”

I don’t care. This is more of the same from the Old Guard. The Old Guard has effectively positioned themselves into a choice between Newt and Mitt- neither of which are sufficiently conservative for my liking. I won’t be dimpling a chad for either of them. Neither has the testicular fortitude to denounce the politics of personal destruction.

I have even heard talk that if Ron Paul were, by some miracle, get the nomination, some republicans would not vote for him. That happens every cycle. Ron Paul needs to say he has ruled out a third party run, and Old Guard republicans need to stop with that sort of talk.

For years we have been stuck with candidates like Bob Dole and John McCain. Candidates pushed on us by the Old Guard. No More. No more talk of not supporting the eventual nominee. No more talk of how someone can’t win. No more manufactured scandals.

Ron Paul is going through the process just like any candidate and deserves the requisite respect to have his platform examined. If he can manage to get the nomination and some Old Guard type wants to discredit him by saying he is unelectable, or any other such nonsense- that will toll the end of the republican party. And Obama the socialist will be re-elected.

Heaven help us.

Ron Paul’s detractors will admit to his fiscal sanity, only having a problem with his foreign policy. I concur that this is a issue that needs to be examined. It is appropriate to question the costs of projecting America across the globe when everyone is trying to get here anyway. Why do we ship boatloads of cash to countries like Pakistan, who only spit in our face? Why do we need to pay for friendship?

Conversely, here at home, we have a rising mutiny of socialists, and border jumpers that need to be dealt with. We need to get back to a Constitutional government that doesn’t rely on Administrative  decrees.

Frankly, we can’t afford to kick the can down the road when it comes to the direction of the country. We are on a path to Civil War. When government employees find out their pensions are worthless, just like Social Security, it’s over.

Either the Old Guard is with us, or they are not. Which is it?

She’s a FARCing Liar

Tuesday, December 20th, 2011

Lori Berenson, a New Yorker who spent 15 years in Peruvian prisons for aiding Marxist insurgents, boarded a plane late on Monday for her first trip home since her 1995 arrest, officials said.

Berenson, 42, the mother of a 2-year-old boy, was paroled last year after serving 15 years of a 20-year sentence.

Wanna bet she joins the #occupy morons?

Berenson was a student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology before becoming involved in social justice issues in Latin America. She was pulled off a bus in Lima 16 years ago and charged with belonging to the Tupac Amaru Revolutionary Movement, or MRTA, an urban guerrilla group.

Her photographer, Nancy Gilvonio, was actually the wife of Néstor Cerpa, the MRTA second-in-command — although Berenson claims she was unaware of this connection and claimed that she knew her only as a Bolivian photographer.

Berenson had entered the main Congress building with Gilvonio several times during 1995 to interview members of Congress. Gilvonio was alleged to have provided the information she collected to the MRTA including detailed information on the floor plans of Congress, its security and members. The plan was for the MRTA to invade the Congress building, kidnap the legislators, and exchange the hostages for MRTA prisoners.

On November 30, 1995, Berenson and Gilvonio were arrested on a public bus in downtown Lima. Berenson was accused of being a leader of the MRTA, which had been officially classified as a terrorist group by the government.

Within hours the government launched an all-night siege of the MRTA safe house previously rented by Berenson during which three MRTA guerrillas and one police officer died and 14 guerrillas were captured. The safe house was found to contain an “arsenal of weapons”,[7] including 3,000 sticks of dynamite.

Berenson was visited by other religious leaders, including William Nottingham, President Emeritus of Overseas Ministries for Disciples of Christ, who after meeting with Lori stated that “She has maintained her innocence in the face of many inducements. She neither condones nor justifies violence of any kind”.

On January 8, 1996, the DINCOTE hosted a news event in which they showed Berenson to the press. At the event, she shouted, her fists clenched to her sides, “There are no criminal terrorists in the MRTA.; it’s a revolutionary movement!”

On January 11, 1996, six weeks after her arrest and three days after her presentation to the media, Berenson was sentenced to life in prison.

“Ms. Berenson’s trial was in a secret military court, where her lawyer was not allowed to cross-examine witnesses or challenge evidence,” and former president Carter stated directly that he was “deeply concerned that Lori Berenson has not been afforded her rights of due process by law.”

On June 8, 2010, former U.S. president Bill Clinton, speaking while on a visit to Peru, expressed his support for Berenson’s release,[45][46] stating “I’m glad Lori Berenson was released … when I was president, I worked for that.”

The Japanese embassy hostage crisis began on 17 December 1996 in Lima, Peru, when 14 members of the Túpac Amaru Revolutionary Movement (MRTA) took hostage hundreds of high-level diplomats, government and military officials and business executives who were attending a party at the official residence of Japan’s ambassador to Peru, Morihisa Aoki, in celebration of Emperor Akihito’s 63rd birthday.

The insurgents made a series of demands:

You’ll recall the Supreme Court’s 6-3 opinion in Holder v. the Humanitarian Law Project which decided that non-violent First Amendment speech and advocacy “coordinated with” or “under the direction of” a foreign group listed by the Secretary of State as “terrorist” was a crime.

Here we have a woman who gives material support to terrorists, and has the blood of at least 24 people on her hands, being supported by the likes of Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton. Not to mention these prisons that MRTA said were so horrible is where she got herself pregnant.

Here’s hoping Holder charges her next- they released Carlos the Jackel to the French to serve a sentence in France and France recently sent Manuel Noriega to Panama for more time- This broad could be charged here as well.

I won’t hold my breath.

Fun with numbers

Friday, December 16th, 2011

I found this over by Gateway-

Yahoo News Reports-
For the first time, the poll found that a majority of adults, 52 percent, said Obama should be voted out of office while 43 percent said he deserves another term.

According to wiki, Obama won in 2008 with 52.9% of the vote.

While that means he has lost 20% of his voters; it also means 80% of the people that voted for him still support him.

You mean to tell me this unprecedented poll  marks the first time he has gone underwater in three years? I ain’t buying it.

They played with the housing sales numbers and the unemployment numbers, now they are playing with these numbers.

They are trying to make him look like the underdog so they can drum up support.

Maybe Soulstraw3 would be kind enough to explain it to me.

On Sovereignty

Thursday, December 15th, 2011

SOVEREIGN. A chief ruler with supreme power; one possessing sovereignty. (q.v.) It is also applied to a king or other magistrate with limited powers.
2. In the United States the sovereignty resides in the body of the people. Vide Rutherf. Inst. 282.

Sovereignty is the quality of having supreme, independent authority over a geographic area, such as a territory. It can be found in a power to rule and make law that rests on a political fact for which no purely legal explanation can be provided.

De jure, or legal, sovereignty concerns the expressed and institutionally recognised right to exercise control over a territory.

De facto, or actual, sovereignty is concerned with whether control in fact exists. Cooperation and respect of the populace; control of resources in, or moved into, an area; means of enforcement and security; and ability to carry out various functions of state all represent measures of de facto sovereignty. When control is practiced predominately by military or police force it is considered coercive sovereignty.

It is generally held that sovereignty requires not only the legal right to exercise power, but the actual exercise of such power. Thus, de jure sovereignty without de facto sovereignty has limited recognition.

How does this matter, you ask? Take the incandescent light bulb for instance:

As of Jan. 1, traditional 100- and 150-watt incandescent light bulbs will no longer be manufactured and sold in the United States, following the passage of a 2007 law.

The law, called the Energy Independence Security Act, calls for a nearly 30 percent reduction in wattages, and means manufacturers will be required to produce more efficient bulbs that offer a certain number of lumens per watt. The new law has some incandescent lovers upset.

Who writes these laws? What kind of moron would even consider this attempt to control the actions and the commerce of its citizens? How do these people come to believe that the marketplace cannot control your wattage? More importantly, why aren’t these twits, that vote for this nonsense, bounced from office, never to darken our doors again?

What has happened to us?

Meet the Brossarts, a North Dakota family deemed so dangerous that the local sheriff needed unleashed an unmanned Predator drone to help bring them in.

The Brossart’s alleged crime? They wouldn’t give back three cows and their calves that wandered onto their 3,000-acre farm this summer.

The same aerial vehicles used by the CIA to track down and assassinate terrorists and militants in Pakistan and Afghanistan are now being deployed by cops to spy on Americans in their own backyards.

When the cattle wandered onto the Brossarts’ land, Sheriff Kelly Janke, who patrols a county of just 3,000 people, rounded up some sheriff’s deputies and arrested Mr Brossart for failing to report the stray livestock.

Are you kidding me? They can send a drone in to spy on people but nowhere do they report that the drone was used to see if the cows were actually there. At least then they wouldn’t be spying on people.

Then there is this:

GREENSBORO — Guilford County Register of Deeds Jeff Thigpen and 10 other people filed a lawsuit last week that challenges a requirement that marrying couples in North Carolina obtain a state-issued license.

The complaint, filed in Guilford County Civil Superior Court on Dec. 8, names state Attorney General Roy Cooper as the defendant. The plaintiffs include three Greensboro ministers and seven heterosexual and homosexual residents from Greensboro, Winston-Salem and Mocksville.

They argue in the complaint that state general statutes violate the U.S. Constitution and the principle of separation of church and state by requiring marrying couples to seek marriage licenses, by requiring religious leaders to fill out and sign them, and by prohibiting religious leaders from solemnizing the marriage of same-sex couples.

No matter how you feel about same-sex marriage, requiring a license is wrong. Since when does someone need permission to exercise a sacrament of their church?

License Definition:
A special permission to do something on, or with, somebody else’s property which, were it not for the license, could be legally prevented or give rise to legal action in tort or trespass.

What have we become?

As if that weren’t enough there is this:

President Barack Obama does not plan to veto a defense bill seeking to direct more terrorism suspects into military custody, the White House signaled Wednesday afternoon.

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said in a statement that changes lawmakers made to the legislation to accomodate White House concerns were sufficient to avoid a veto. The statement was issued just before the House was expected to vote on the conferenced House-Senate version of the National Defense Authorization Act.

“The language which precluded the application of Section 1031 to American citizens was in the bill that we originally approved…and the administration asked us to remove the language which says that U.S. citizens and lawful residents would not be subject to this section,” said Levin, Chairman of the Armed Services Committee.

The section in reference has caused much consternation:

Forty members of Congress have sent a letter urging the House and Senate Armed Services Committee leaders to protest provisions of the National Defense Authorization Act that would legalize the indefinite detention of American citizens.

That’s a yes. Who gets to decide who is a terrorist? The same people that banned 100 watt light bulbs and told us they were never going to stop people for not wearing a seatbelt. Do you really want these people to decide how much water your toilet can use?

Are you a Citizen or Subject? Are you sovereign or are they?

AT THE CLOSE OF THE CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTION, a woman asked Benjamin Franklin what type of government the Constitution was bringing into existence. Franklin replied, “A republic, if you can keep it.”

Time's Man of the Year

The Protester

“No one could have known that when a Tunisian fruit vendor set himself on fire in a public square, it would incite protests that would topple dictators and start a global wave of dissent. In 2011, protesters didn’t just voice their complaints; they changed the world.”

I wonder if that comes with a pension…

Even a Stopped Clock….

Clarence Page from The Chicago Tribune pretty much sums it up.

If history tells us anything, the rise of Newt Gingrich to Republican presidential front-runner is a sign that the tea party movement is destroying itself. After all, the former House speaker has surged to the top of GOP presidential polls on the shoulders of tea party supporters, a movement that ironically came together to topple “Washington insiders” — like Gingrich.

Seriously, kids, how did we get into a position of a choice between Newt and Romney? It’s become so asinine, Newt even took a pledge.

GOP frontrunner Newt Gingrich today pledged “personal fidelity” to his spouse and “respect for the marital bonds of others.”

How pathetic is that? The guy already took the vow… three times. The part about “and respect for the marital bonds of others” is gunna bite him later.

How is it possible for Newt to be electable while Herman Cain is tossed under the bus? His sins are far more egregious than Herman’s. And he is part of the problem.

Just as the revolutions across North Africa were co-opted by the Muslim Brotherhood, the #occupiers have stolen the limelight from the Tea Party and sucked all the oxygen from the room rendering the Tea Party irrelevant if they vote for Newt.

Now, I’m not saying Newt wouldn’t be a good president, I’m just saying he isn’t Tea Party material. He would be another Big government type, if you ask me.

The silence from Sarah Palin is deafening.

Contest! Winner!

Monday, December 12th, 2011

Who was an American journalist describing here:

“Little eyes, a snubbish nose, wide, generous mouth, and heavy chin; clean-shaven now, but already beginning to bristle with the well-known beard of his past and future. Dressed in shabby clothes, his trousers much too long for him. Unimpressive, to be the idol of a mob, loved and revered as perhaps few leaders in history have been. A strange popular leader—a leader purely by virtue of intellect; colourless, humourless, uncompromising and detached, without picturesque idiosyncrasies—but with the power of explaining profound ideas in simple terms, of analysing a concrete situation. And combined with shrewdness, the greatest intellectual audacity.”

No cheating. Contest ends sometime tomorrow. Winner gets a guided tour of B.C.’s p0rn collection.

Here’s some hawt bikini-less ass for all you losers below the fold.
