Pardon Me

Sunday, November 20th, 2011

This has got to be the dumbest thing I’ve heard all year.

One White House source is saying President Barack Obama is considering attending the Dec. 6 sentencing for former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich.

Blagojevich was convicted in June on 17 corruption charges including trying to sell the president’s vacated U.S. Senate seat to the highest bidder. In an exclusive interview with the source said the president has already altered his schedule on that day to make it easier for him to attend.

No bidders were ever prosecuted.

“He wants to be there to see the look in his (Rod Blagojevich) eyes when his sentence is handed down,” said a White House source, who asked to remain annoymous. “There are some security concerns but if those can be worked out he is seriously trying to attend.”

Are you kidding me? The only reason for Obama to show up at the sentencing would be to personally hand deliver the presidential pardon. It would be the Chicago way. The interwebtubes are rife with the connections between Obama and Blagojevich and their mutual Chinamen. Here’s a taste. Go read the whole damn thing. These guys were getting their money from the Oil for Food program and bribing U.S. politicians.

Rezko read a newspaper article about Obama’s Law Review election and had a colleague get in touch; in 1990 Rezko offered Obama a job at Rezmar before he had graduated from Harvard Law School. Obama declined, joining a Chicago law firm instead. There he did what he has described as a minimal amount of legal work for Rezmar. Chicago Tribune reporter David Mendell, author of the recently published Obama: From Promise to Power, says, “Rezko threw an early fundraiser for Obama at his North Shore house, and that fundraiser was instrumental in providing Obama with seed money” for his U.S. Senate race in 2004.

As Mr. Alsammarae said of how he escaped from an Iraqi prison before getting involved in Illinois politics:

Mr. Alsammarae said with undisguised glee: “The Chicago way.”

We’ll see just how important Mr. Rezko was to the Blago investigation on Monday and Tuesday when he is sentenced. This guy has been in jail for three years waiting for his sentence- how can a guy plead guilty and wait 3 years in jail for his sentence? Then, on December 6th, Blagojevich gets his.

I have a feeling this is gunna get uglier.
